Semple & McKillop were part of the design and construction team on this new modern leisure and retail centre on a large greenfield site.
The leisure facility includes a 10 lane bowling alley and 8 FIFA and UEFA 2 approved indoor football pitches with adjoining changing rooms. Also contained within are a children’s adventure and soft play area, snooker hall, function room, café/bar, restaurant and a children’s snack bar. The retail centre includes a convenience store, 3 retail units, a medical centre, crèche and offices. The works also included a car park with capacity for approximately 250 cars.
Close control of the environmental conditions was required to ensure that the flooring retained its level nature and achieved optimum comfort conditions for players. The HVAC system was installed to maximise energy saving through zone control and free cooling when external ambient conditions permit.
The lighting installation was carefully designed to create an interesting and varying environment with enhanced controls to change the ambience.
Services also included installation of a Building Management System and ensuring compliance with Part M of the Building Regulations and relevant legislation. Other services: utility negotiation, security and access control, CCTV, PA and IT infrastructure.
