This project was initiated by DkIT to accommodate a group of highly specialised microbiologists who conduct molecular research.
The facility required was scientific in nature and required an element of enabling works to permit the contractor to commence the construction phase and achieve completion in what was a very short programme.
Our brief was to design and supervise the installation of all engineering services for a new state of the art microbiology laboratory research facility, which included a close controlled climatic environment for the storage of specimens.
This project was particularly interesting in that it required the services design to be planned in close collaboration with the Biologists and their specialist equipment. This highly serviced building required extremely detailed services co-ordination and involvement from many specialist sub-contractors.
Services included were specialist gases & vacuum, water purification & specialist ventilation.
The building services engineering accounted for approximately 50% of the cost and the project was complete within a 12 weeks construction programme.
