The Paul Hogarth Company produced a Masterplan for the Holyrood Area of Edinburgh on the edge of the Old Town World Heritage Site. At the time, the area was dominated by industrial uses, but through the phased delivery of development this has become a highly successful part of the Capital City, with offices, hotels, residential properties and a major visitor attraction, Dynamic Earth.
The Masterplan not only set out the vision for changing the area itself but importantly identified how it should integrate with adjacent area including the historic city centre, the Palace and Royal Park.
The Practice was responsible for the design and delivery of much of the award-winning public realm in the area and for integrating the buildings and accesses.
