This project involved the sympathetic refurbishment of an existing listed ‘Georgian Style Mansion’ and integration with a new modern health care development to provide long-term residential care.  The Nursing Home consists of 60 self contained bed units with en-suite facilities.  Residents are provided with an energy centre, laundry facility, kitchen, common areas and landscape gardens.
The facility was constructed in a seven phase arrangement to ensure accommodation was available to facilitate the existing residents. The first phase was a service block containing catering and laundry facilities and an energy centre. Subsequent phases were all residential but required careful planning and distribution of all services including temporary arrangements to existing building elements to allow them to continue to function with minimal disruption to staff and residents.
Services provided included: nurse call, deaf loop, access control, general and emergency lighting, digital telephone system with call management, back up electricity generation, power distribution, fire alarm detection, low pressure hot water LST heating, ventilation, soils, wastes, sanitary ware, biomass boiler installation and plumbing installations.
