Ostick+Williams prepared a contemporary design for the Opera Centre, a major new commercial development located in the Northern Sector of Limerick City Centre which received full planning permission.
The scheme consists 28585m2 of quality retail space on four levels . The units will be located around a central mall area which has voids running the full height of the building to create the impression of an ‘internal street’.
The network of streets that surround the site and the adjacent Georgian buildings provide the architectural context which has motivated the strong emphasis on elevation design – ensuring the proposal is sympathetic to its surroundings in terms of scale. The design encapsulates the historical references within the site and owes much to the Georgian topography for which Limerick is renowned.
