Ardnashee School

Albert Fry Associates are pleased to have been appointed by the Education Authority (Western Region) as Civil and Structural consulting engineers for the design and delivery of the new-build Ardnashee School and College (currently at Design Review Stage 3). The selected steeply sloping site is presently occupied by Foyle Academy Junior School at Northland Road, Derry. The campus with an LIA of 8815m2 will meet the curricular needs of 275 pupils aged 3-19 with profound, moderate and severe learning difficulties in accordance with Department Building Bulletin 102 (design for children with special educational needs) and will achieve an excellent BREEAM standard with scope for future expansion and adaption. The chosen structural form comprises a fully steel framed, largely double height building constructed on conventional spread foundations.
