CEF excellence awards

For over twenty years the CEF Excellence Awards have been the most prestigious event in the Northern Ireland Construction calendar providing an opportunity to recognise the achievements of the local Construction Industry and to publicise the tremendous contribution that our industry makes to Northern Ireland’s economy and our society in general.

The 2022 gala evening was held on Thursday 6th October 2022 at the Crown Plaza Hotel with schemes on which Albert Fry Associates were appointed as civil and structural engineering consultants being nominated in multiple categories, for example:

  • Education and Health Projects of the Year: South West College, Erne Campus
  • Education and Health Projects of the Year: Nursing Home at Harberton North, Belfast
  • GB & ROI General Construction Projects of the Year: Solid Fuel Recycling Plant, Wales
  • General Construction Project of the Year: Copelands Care Home, Donaghadee

We were further pleased to see two individuals, with whom we have enjoyed a harmonious professional relationship over many years, acknowledged for their contribution to NI’s Construction Industry:

  • Lifetime Achievement Award; Mr Desmond Scott of Woodvale Construction
  • Construction Person of the Year Award; Mr Donal McGloin of Tracey Brothers Ltd

We all, not least Ruth and James who were in attendance, were thrilled when South West College Erne Campus was awarded the prize for Education Project of the Year. This scheme was delivered in partnership with Tracey Brothers Ltd, Design and Construct specialist Contractors.
